Belt Washer
Main function
The belt washer is an automated system designed to continuously clean the surface of conveyor belts (Mat Top, Table Top, flat belts, or modular belts) without dismantling the line.
Installed on the return belt section or underneath the conveyor, it enables:
· Removal of solid and liquid residues
· Reduction of material accumulation
· Improvement of operational hygiene
· Extension of belt service life
It is an effective solution to maintain a high level of hygiene between full cleaning cycles, particularly in food processing environments.
Belt Washer vs CIP System:
The belt washer provides continuous operational cleaning, whereas a CIP system performs a complete validated cleaning and sanitation process compliant with strict sanitary protocols.
Typical applications
• Meat / poultry: Removal of organic residues from protein products.
• Dairy products: Elimination of fat buildup on cheese and fresh products.
• Bakery: Cleaning of dry particles such as flour and crumbs.
• Fruits & vegetables: Removal of plant residues from fresh products.
• Multi-product lines: Reduction of cross-contamination risks in mixed production environments.
Key benefits
· Continuous cleaning without major downtime: Enables regular mechanical cleaning during planned breaks or at the end of shifts without heavy line disassembly.
· Reduced downtime: Decreases intensive manual cleaning and improves overall equipment availability.
· Improved daily hygiene: Reduces buildup under the belt, limiting bacterial risks and premature component degradation.
· Sanitary design available: Stainless steel version with optimized drainage and open-frame construction suitable for washdown environments.
· Protection of conveyor investment: Less accumulation = reduced premature wear = extended belt and component lifespan.
