Inspection & Quality
Case Inspection
Main function
Case inspection and identification systems are automated solutions designed to detect, identify, and reject cases, cartons, or packages that are:
· Improperly sealed (often due to poorly sealed flaps)
· Wet or contaminated by moisture
· Damaged (crushed corners, deformation, broken edges)
· Non-compliant (dimensions out of tolerance, missing glue, missing or incomplete label)
These systems rely on a combination of optical sensors, high-speed cameras, image analysis, and specialized defect detection technologies, enabling reliable and rapid in-line product evaluation without slowing down production speed.
Typical applications
· Inspection of cases/cartons before palletizing to ensure final pallet quality
· Detection of wet cases (e.g., coming from washdown or humid processing zones) that may compromise pallet or load integrity
· Detection of sealing or gluing defects on packaging
· Verification of packaging dimensions and structural integrity before shipment
· Automatic downstream sorting to reject or isolate non-conforming products
Key benefits
· High-precision inspection: Uses advanced image analysis systems and sensors to quickly detect visible or invisible anomalies, even at high speeds.
· Wet case detection: Through specialized technologies (e.g., moisture sensors, adaptive lighting), the system can identify wet or contaminated surfaces, which is critical for packaging quality and downstream logistics.
· Reduction of returns and product loss: By removing improperly formed or compromised packages early in the process, the risk of damage during handling and customer dissatisfaction is reduced.
· Automated integration: Can be synchronized with conveyor lines, reject systems, PLCs, and sorting/palletizing systems for fully automated quality control processes.
· High throughput operation: Designed to operate at speeds compatible with high-performance packaging lines without slowing production or causing significant product loss.
