CIP (Clean-In-Place) system
Main function
A CIP (Clean-In-Place) system is an integrated automated cleaning device for conveyor surfaces (belts, modular chains, and product-contact components) without requiring manual disassembly. It provides controlled distribution of cleaning and sanitizing solutions (detergents, disinfectants, water) over the internal, external, and edge surfaces of conveyors in order to remove food residues, microorganisms, and biofilms in accordance with modern food hygiene requirements.
Typical applications
• Automated cleaning of food conveyors at regular intervals
• Applications using belts or modular chains for conveying sensitive food product
• Integration into production lines requiring rapid product changeovers (e.g., dairy products, meat, ready-to-eat foods)
• High-volume food processing lines where production downtime must be minimized
• Regulated industries: dairy, beverages, bakery, confectionery, pharmaceutical, cosmetic
• Areas requiring strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, BRC, SQF)
Key benefits
• Automated cleaning without disassembly: The CIP system effectively cleans the entire conveying equipment without the need to remove belts or components, reducing downtime and minimizing manual effort.
• Improved hygiene and food safety: By cleaning the interior, exterior, and edges of the conveying surface, the system reduces biofilms, residues, and the risk of cross-contamination.
• Reduced resource consumption: Through optimized distribution of water, detergents, and energy, the CIP system lowers resource consumption while maintaining consistent cleanliness.
• Flexible installation and integration: Modern CIP units are designed to be plug-and-play and compatible with different conveyor frame types, without requiring major structural modifications.
• Improved operational productivity: Reduced downtime associated with cleaning and sanitation increases overall line availability and lowers labor costs related to manual cleaning operations.
