Drag Chain Conveyor for Heavy Pallet
Main function
The pallet drag chain conveyor ensures the transport and accumulation of pallets or heavy unit loads using parallel chains that directly support the load and move it along the conveyor.
Movement is achieved by one or more driven chains that pull the load along rails or wear strips, allowing reliable transport of pallets, industrial containers, or rigid loads, even when the bottom of the load is not compatible with a roller conveyor.
Typical applications
• Automated pallet transport between production, storage, or shipping area
• Accumulation and transfer of heavy unit loads on automated lines
• Integration into palletizing, depalletizing, and internal logistics systems
• Conveying in demanding industrial environments (high temperature, humidity, oily contamination)
• Drag chain conveyors are particularly suited for loads that are difficult to transport on roller conveyors, especially irregular pallets or loads with discontinuous bottom surfaces.
• The DC-62 and DC-82 models typically use two strands of chain, while the DC-63 and DC-83 models use three strands to provide additional central support and improved load stability.
Key benefits
• Reliable transport of heavy loads: Designed to handle unit loads up to approximately 6,000 lb, these conveyors provide a robust solution for heavy-duty material handling applications.
• Compatibility with various pallet types: Enables efficient transport of wood pallets, plastic pallets, industrial containers, or large unit loads.
• Adaptability to harsh environments: The chain-driven design performs efficiently in wet, dirty, oily, or high-temperature conditions where other conveying technologies may be limited.
• Configuration flexibility: Available in straight or curved sections, with accumulation, transfer, or direction-change options, facilitating integration into complex logistics systems.
• Reduced maintenance and high durability: Robust construction and mechanical simplicity reduce maintenance interventions and downtime, improving operational availability.
• Advanced automated integration: Can be combined with accumulation control systems to enable automated flow management and reduce collisions between loads.
