End-of-Line & Palletizing
Vertical Case Elevator / Lowerator
Main function
The vertical case elevator / lowerator is an automated material handling system designed to transfer boxes, cartons, or cases from one level to another, either upward or downward, while maintaining controlled and secure product flow.
These systems help optimize floor space, structure vertical product flows, and synchronize production or end-of-line operations, particularly between packaging, inspection, accumulation, and palletizing.
Depending on space constraints, throughput requirements, product characteristics, and environmental conditions, several technologies and configurations are available with either industrial or ultra-sanitary finishes.
Typical applications
· Straight vertical elevator / lowerator (continuous operation): Provides continuous and synchronized vertical transport, ideal for high-speed automated lines where floor space is limited and product flow must remain constant. Example: MK5 by Qimarox or HERO3 by Storcan.
· Discontinuous elevator / lowerator (lift type): Operates in pick-and-place cycles, suited for lines with variable throughput or applications requiring precise flow control and positioning of boxes. Example: MK1 by Qimarox.
· Spiral elevator / lowerator (vertical spiral): Enables continuous elevation or descent along a helical path with a small footprint, while allowing throughput buffering or controlled vertical accumulation. Example: Ryson or AmbaFlex systems.
Key benefits
· Space optimization: Manages vertical product flows without extending horizontal conveyor lines.
· Adaptation to production flow: Choice between continuous or discontinuous operation depending on line speed and process requirements.
· Flexible system design: Multiple technologies available (straight vertical, spiral, lift type) to match specific operational needs.
· Easy integration: Compatible with roller conveyors, belt conveyors, modular conveyors, sorting systems, and palletizing equipment.
· Durability and reliability: Robust industrial design suitable for continuous operation.
